4 Ways To Make 2020 Better Than 2019!

If 2019 wasn't your year than you are not alone. Some of us are looking back on the last few months, looking up in the sky and saying "Are you freaking kidding me?"

All humor aside though, the year is over and it's time to make 2020 awesome. Here are FOUR ways that YOU can make 2020 better than 2019!

#1 - Start Journaling

Journaling regularly has proven to not just boost your mood, but help your memory in retaining information, and reducing stress throughout your day. There are so many different kinds of journals. Journals to help you plan your day, your year, write your thoughts and dreams out, record your insights after your daily scripture study. It's endless! So grab a journal and start writing in it. Even if it's just 5 minutes a day. You won't regret it.

#2 - Eat Healthier

It's a no brainer to eat healthier, and yet sometimes it is SO HARD! Today, many people's diets consist of more saturated fat, trans fats, sugars, and more sodium than fruits, vegetables and dietary fiber. Your body's health reflects what you put into it. If you're feeling slow, and unmotivated, or as I like to say "you feel like human biscuits and gravy," than eating healthier can definitely change that. Watch. Eating healthier will give you the strength, energy, and livelihood that you want the most!

#3 - Workout!

Eating healthy is a great start, but if you're like me, you're sick of walking up stairs and being out of breath! So jump on Youtube and watch some home work outs, get a gym membership, grab a running buddy, and start getting more active! Exercising regularly decreases a person's risk of developing certain diseases, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure.

#4 - Get a Hobby

The final thing that you should do new in 2020 is to get a new hobby! Getting a hobby will reinvigorate you and your desire to learn something new. It might open new doors, new opportunities, and new friends. Finding a hobby that you enjoy can take the stresses of every day life, and keeping you engaged on wanting to constantly improve yourself.

If you are still struggling with finding ways to improve in 2020, consider following the four new pillars that the youth will be following this coming year in the new youth program. Brother Stephen W. Owen, the general president of the Church's Young Men organization, explains the purpose the new 2020 Youth Program when he says:

“Jesus grew spiritually, physically, socially and intellectually. We are asking each of our children and youth to consider how they want to grow in these same four areas.”
