Whether you want full creative control or the power of Cedar Fort's distribution network behind you, we have a publishing path built for you.

Option 1: DIY Publishing

You select the services you need, we handle production, and you take it from there. Once your book is ready, you can order copies for delivery or pick them up directly from our warehouse in Springville, Utah. This option is ideal for authors who want to retain full rights to their book and maintain complete control over their own sales and distribution.

Option 2: Self Publishing + Cedar Fort Distribution

You invest in our professional editorial and design services, and Cedar Fort takes care of the rest. We cover printing costs and manage all fulfillment — inventory, shipping, and returns. You retain the rights to your book while Cedar Fort takes it to market through our established distribution channels, placing it in front of bookstores, retailers, and online platforms on your behalf.

Authors must be pre-approved by our review team. Review typically takes up to one week.

The Process From Beginning to End

Every great book has a great team behind it. Here's how we help you build yours.
Step 1 : Assemble Your Team

Great books don't happen by accident — they're built by the right people working together. We offer a full suite of professional services you can mix and match to fit your project and budget:

  • Print, eBook, and Audiobook creation
  • Substantive and Line Editing
  • Interior design and typeset
  • Cover design
  • Illustration

A fully finished book typically ranges from $6,000 to $8,000 depending on the services you select. We'll provide a detailed quote once you've chosen your services. From there, we move into Step 2 — editing and preparing your manuscript for press.

Step 2 : We Do the Work
With your team in place, it's time to bring your book to life. Every project is a little different, but after 40 years in publishing, nothing surprises us. We'll assign you a dedicated publishing coordinator who will guide you through each stage and help you make decisions that set your book up for success.

Our editors will ensure your book reads with clarity and professionalism. Our designers will make sure the cover is compelling and market-ready. Once your book has been formatted in the editions you've selected — print, eBook, and/or audiobook — we'll move into the final stage.
Step 3 : Print and Delivery

Your book is ready. Just choose your print quantity, complete your order, and we'll ship copies directly to you — or you're welcome to pick them up at our warehouse in Springville, Utah. There is a one-time $350 press setup fee, after which you can reorder as many times as you'd like. Use our Print Cost Estimator to plan your budget before you begin.

Need Fulfillment and Distribution Too?

If managing inventory and shipping isn't how you want to spend your time, Option 2 — Self-Publishing + Cedar Fort Distribution — may be the right fit. Once your manuscript is reviewed and approved by our editorial team, Cedar Fort covers the cost of printing (including the setup fee) and fulfills all orders directly from our warehouse. We then distribute your book through our established retail and wholesale channels, placing it with bookstores and online platforms to give it the widest possible reach.
