It was the third of five homes that served as living quarters for the Smith family as well as Church headquarters during the seven-year Kirtland, Ohio period. During the ten months Joseph and Emma Smith lived there, the Prophet received sixteen and a half sections of the Doctrine and Covenants and accomplished well over half of the Bible translation. It is no wonder that the bedroom he used as an office is often referred to as the “Revelation Room.” Together, the revelations and the context in which they were received tell a story of one amazing year in the unfolding Restoration in the latter days.
