Americans are THE MOST STRESSED people in the world and in these last days, our stress levels are increasing daily. We have Stress in life, by Design. Stress helps us learn, grow and become stronger and more refined. The Savior has not left us alone in trying to deal with this increasing, overwhelming stress. He has provided us with MANY lessons, skills, guidance, and suggestions on how to: prevent some stress, decrease some stress, manage the daily stress and cope with the stress that we cannot avoid. He has also provided counsel to help us obtain Peace in a stressful world.
Karen Shores learned a great deal about stress and how to manage it when both her parents passed away while she was at Brigham Young University. She was suddenly on her own, trying to work full-time and finish a Master's Degree. She learned more about how to deal with stress when her husband passed away right after she began her Doctoral Program at the University of Utah. Her Doctoral dissertation was on identifying the character traits that help a person become resilient in a life of trials and challenges. In order to help other people, learn to deal with stress, she began teaching stress classes at conferences, Universities, Firesides and Community Events. She has had many difficulties in life that have helped her test and refine the stress management principles and skills she has identified.
