Marlene D. Bartlett has always had a love of “music that invites the Spirit,” and has always had a desire to compose. She wrote her first piece in 2007 and submitted it to the Church Music Submission contest where it earned an Award of Distinction. Since then, she has written and submitted other award-winning songs to the Church.
Throughout her high school and college years, Marlene sang Alto in a women’s trio and in school choirs and choral groups. Because of her love of singing Alto, she especially enjoys writing choral music that has melodious harmonies with a nice, low-Alto part. She equally loves writing music for children and some of these songs are among her award-winning songs that were submitted to the Church.
Marlene has served in many Church callings, including Primary Chorister, Primary Pianist, Ward Choir Director, Counselor in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Women Presidencies, and as Ward Young Women President. She currently serves as Stake Young Women President. She also works as a Legal Secretary.
Marlene and her loving and supportive husband, Trace, enjoy being grandparents and are parents of three sons and two daughters. They reside in Chandler, Arizona.
