Cedar Fort Children's Book Contest

Teens: submit a children's book manuscript for a chance to be published with Cedar Fort Publishing & Media!

 

Who can participate?

Participants must be between the ages of 12 and 18 during the submission period of March 15th through June 15th 2024.

Cedar Fort Publishing & Media employees or their immediate family members (parent, spouse, sibling, child) are not eligible to enter or win.

We are not accepting submissions from those who have been previously published by any book publisher.

 

What is the prize?

A traditional publishing contract with Cedar Fort Publishing & Media. Cedar Fort Publishing & Media will provide the illustrator for the book. The book will be published by 2027.

 

What are we looking for?

Submissions should be around 250-500 words. The story must fit into a 32-page spread. No illustrations please.

These books will be for children between the ages of 4 and 8, so rhymes are always good but not required, and a moral of the story will really make you stand out. For example, in Jasper and the Yeti, Jasper shows determination, grit, and a good attitude.

Where Do I submit?

Please submit your manuscript as a word doc file (.docx)

Only one submission per person.

 

Winner Selection

On or about July 15, 2023, one (1) Award winner will be selected by a panel of three (3) representatives from the Cedar Fort Editorial team and five published children’s picture book author/illustrators.

    Judges’ decisions will be final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. In the event of a tie, the judges will reconsider the tied Submissions using the judging criteria stated above to determine one (1) Award winner. Sponsor reserves the right to not provide the Award if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Submissions. Sponsor will not reveal the judging scores for any Submission.
