Wain Myers thought he knew what he believed, but after a revelation from God, something had to change. This black former Baptist preacher–and now black Mormon teacher–tells his fascinating story of following the Spirit’s voice and ultimately becoming a convert in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the “LDS” or “Mormon” church). This remarkable true story will inspire you to follow your own promptings and share truth wherever you find it.
Praise for “From Baptist Preacher to Mormon Teacher”:
“Truth is truth, and for most people it doesn’t always come in a pretty package. Wain shares the truth and insights about why he believes what he believes. From Baptist Preacher to Mormon Teacher is not for the weak of heart! Wain Myers is taking no prisoners as he shares his raw, yet personal, experience of leaving the “cloth” and embracing the priesthood. His real, refreshing testimony will uplift you and remind you that, like the scriptures say, we are more than a conqueror!” –Tamu Smith and Zandra Vranes, authors of SISTASinZION and Diary of Two Mad Black Mormons
“From Baptist Preacher to Mormon Teacher is a quick and delightful read. Full of compelling insights, it is also humorous, instructive, and thought-provoking. Readers will not only feel edified by reading this book, but they will feel like they’ve gained a new, wise, and very funny friend.” –Margaret Young, author and filmmaker
“When confronted with a fact that hurt him to his very core, rather than take the position of a man indignant, Wain laid aside the thing that offended him in favor of trusting that God was answering his prayer in His own way and time. He might have left the Church and never looked back, but Brother Myers has such a relationship with his Heavenly Father that he endured the pain for a greater good. This compelling response stands in stark contrast to the world that we live in today.” –Duane Pannell, coauthor of 3,000 Miles to Eternity
