I haven’t read very much of Einstein’s Trunk by James Haberkorn yet, but already I’m hooked. The characters are intriguing and have great chemistry together and the plot line is unique enough that it keeps me engaged. I’m excited to read more. Here’s your teasers so that you can get excited about it too.
He hit the door lock and released the doors. Without a word, Isabella got out, indecorously slamming the door on her trailing handbag and then having to re-slam it. The thought came to him that she might have another gun in a thigh holster, and a jolt of fear hit him as he pictured her pulling out a pistol and shooting him through the window. His hand slid under his jacket and gripped the Colt.
“Hey!” he yelled. At the sound of his voice, she stopped scraping the mud off her shoe against the fence rail and slowly turned to face him. “I think I’ve finally come up with a nickname for you. Have a nice life, Unamanga.”
I am also reading Damia’s Children by Anne McCaffrey, but once again it is at home, and I am not. So I will tell you a bit about it from what I can remember. There’s a lot of funky names in the first two paragraphs so it’s a little hard to keep track of, but after a while you get to know the characters better and you can keep them straight. The characters have met an alien race and are learning to work together against their common enemy. Anne McCaffrey is definitely a master at world building and Damia’s Children is no exception.
