Dear Author,
We are pleased and excited that you are considering submitting a manuscript to Cedar Fort, Inc. Each year we publish well over 100 books, and many of those are by first-time authors - thus, unlike many other book publishing companies, we are very interested in seeing books from new authors. At the same time, we love to see books from established authors. As one of the largest book publishers in Utah, we have the capability and enthusiasm to make your book a success, whether you are a new author or a returning one.

Cedar Fort's Vision
We want to publish uplifting and edifying books that help people think about what is important in life, books people enjoy reading to relax and feel better about themselves, and books to help improve lives. Whether or not a book is written specifically to the LDS market, all of our books should be in line with basic Christian beliefs and should be suitable and uplifting for any group. Our authors believe, as do we, that books should inspire readers to be better people, and we strive to always publish books that are in harmony with that spirit.
In the past few years we have grown substantially, and we hope to continue growing, bringing more authors and more great books into the marketplace. We are also excited to increase our CD and DVD product lines. We hope that within a short time we can bring even more music, inspiresides, and talks-on-tape to the market.

About Cedar Fort's Imprints
We have several imprints under which we publish our books. Our imprints are as follows:
- CFI: LDS doctrinal books, scriptural commentaries, self-help, cookbooks, and some fiction
- BONNEVILLE BOOKS: mainly LDS fiction
- HORIZON: all genres, some LDS doctrinal titles
- COUNCIL PRESS: historical fiction and nonfiction
- SWEETWATER BOOKS: books intended primarily for the national market
We also produce Pioneer Plus Gifts, a line of religious gifts, jewelry, scrap-booking materials, and fine art.
Urban Legends about Cedar Fort - Setting the Record Straight
- We are not a vanity press (meaning that we do not ask authors to share the cost of publishing their books, except in very rare cases).
- We are not a distributor of self-published books.
- We are not strictly an LDS publisher.
- We don't operate in Cedar Fort, Utah, nor did we ever. (So, you ask, where did the name come from? Well, that is one of the big mysteries here at Cedar Fort. We believe the answer may be buried under layers of links on the CFI home page.)
- It is not true that we use out-of-print books to wallpaper our offices.
- We do not work in an antiquated fort made entirely of pointed cedar trees. In fact, Cedar Fort's building is a state-of-the-art publishing facility. (Please come see the building and take a tour anytime.)
- And no, there is no such thing as The Annual CFI Author Disco Dance Competition. (Where do these rumors come from?)
