Submission Guidelines for Previously Published or Self-Published Books
- Click here to return to the Submission home page
- New Manuscript Submission Form
- Cover letter (1 page)
- Resume (please let us know how many copies your book has already sold)
- Synopsis of your book
- A short statement of who owns the rights to the book. Please make sure you own the rights to your book. We cannot publish a book if another publishing company owns the rights.
- Copy of your published book. You may submit your book in its final, published state; or you may submit a hard copy (not in a published state: loose pages, 8 1⁄2 x 11-inch paper, printed at home or at Kinko's, ect.).
IF YOU SUBMIT A HARD COPY (MANUSCRIPT) RATHER THAN A COMPLETED, PUBLISHED BOOK, please follow the instructions below in formatting your manuscript. These guidelines help ensure that your submission will be easily readable, that all of the pages will stay together, that our committees can estimate the size of the book if published, and that we can respond to your submission once we have made a decision.
- PAPER AND BINDING: Print black ink on white paper. The paper should have 1-inch margins and be 8 1⁄2 inches x 11 inches. Do not bind.
- TITLE PAGE: In the upper left-hand corner of the title page, put your name (no pen names, please!), mailing address, email, and phone number. A third of the way down the page, center the book title. At the bottom of the page, include the date submitted.
- TEXT: Use a header on every page; include your last name and the book title (shortened for the header, if necessary).
- Use Courier, New Courier, or Times New Roman in 12 point font for ALL text. Double space and left-justify the entire manuscript. Although use of italics, bolding, or all caps is okay, please do not put the entire text into any of these three formats.
- Please make sure that each page is numbered. Do not restart pagination for each new chapter or section.
- Please do not add an extra space between paragraphs.
