Bio:Randall C. Bird was born in Blackfoot, Idaho. He attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University where he graduated with his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in 1973. For 37 years he was employed by the Church Educational System where he taught seminary, institute, and was manager of seminary curriculum. He was associate editor for the Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint Families and Scripture Study for Latter-day Saint Families series. He was one of the first teachers in 1976 to begin the program called, “Especially for Youth”. He either taught or directed EFY every year until his retirement in 2010. He and his wife, Carla, are currently serving a mission to the Philippines assigned to public affairs. They are the parents of six children and 25 grandchildren. He loves spending time with his family, studying the scriptures, sports, fishing, and just having fun. He resides in Layton, Utah.
