About the Author:

Orrin G. Hatch has been a United Sates senator (R-Utah) since 1976. He received his juris doctorate in 1962 from the University of Pittsburgh Law School and has been awarded honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Maryland, Pepperdine University, Southern Utah University, and Stanford University.

In addition to his public service, Senator Hatch is a deeply religious man. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has been a LDS bishop and has served eight missions for the Church. Senator Hatch and his wife, Elaine, have six children and several grandchildren.
