December LDS nonfiction release: Let light into your life

December Radiant release“Teaching the Book of Mormon, Part 2 (Alma 17-Moroni)” is our last LDS nonfiction release of the year–and lone release from this category for the month of December.

This teaching manual was written by John Bushman, Reed Romney, John Manis, and Curt Wakefield and is a continuation of Part 1 of this series, which covers 1 Nephi through Alma 16. Part 1 was released earlier this year and is available in bookstores and from online retailers.

John S. Bushman

John S. Bushman grew up in Tempe, Arizona and served a mission in the Philippines.  Later he got his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and his Master’s in Instructional Technology from Arizona State University.

He worked as a full time Seminary instructor for the Church’s Seminaries and Institutes for 10 years in Saint George, Utah and now teaches Institute and coordinates the Seminary program in northwest Washington. He is the author of “Impractical Grace” which is a story about how God’s grace can heal any wound in life. He has recently co-authored a book with his wife, “Table Talk” which contains hundreds of questions and quotes to get family discussing the issues that matter most in life.

Reed Romney

Reed Romney was born in Mesa, Arizona and grew up in various cities including Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and even London. He served his mission in the Washington Spokane Spanish-speaking mission.

Romney attended Brigham Young University and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Business Finance, graduating cum laude. He then obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Utah University. He is a full-time teacher for the Seminaries and Institutes program of the Church.


Manis Picture
John Manis

John R. Manis is a full-time Seminary teacher for the Church.  He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from BYU with coursework divided between family studies and ancient languages. This background has assisted him in creating modern application from ancient religious writings and presenting those application to students of a variety of ages. He is currently on track to receiving a master’s degree from Southern Utah University.


Curt Wakefield

Curt Wakefield was born and raised in Idaho. He served a mission to Southern Italy, and then attended BYU-Idaho, where he received his bachelor’s degree in recreational leadership. He has a master’s degree in professional communication from SUU and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in educational psychology at UNLV.  He currently lives in St. George, Utah, where he has taught Seminary for eight years.
