Christmas is nearly upon the Young household, but the amount of Christmas spirit there could have been rolled up and put inside an ornament on the tree. James and Della have grown further and further aparthe retreating to his shop and she to her garden. The children, Liza and Todd, mostly grunt at each other, saying, “Don’t touch me,” or “Huh? I don’t care.”
And Grandpa? Ah, that’s the big problem. Grandpa, who had been their Spirit of Christmas, died last year, and with his passing all the holiday lights went out.
But then a lettera letter Grandpa had sent from the Holy Land, lost in the mail for a yearis miraculously delivered, bringing the family “a newly discovered text by Jesus.” This message, a gift received in one magical Christmas moment, changes their lives.
The Christmas Moment, a modern retelling of O. Henry’s classic The Gift of the Magi, brings to life again the wonder of true giving.
