Timothy yearns to follow his father Simeon and two uncles in their fishing boat on the stormy Sea of Galilee, but because of his small frame, he is given the task of tending a few sheep on the hillside.
But the Master has come! Through Timothy's eyes we see the Savior feed five thousand with only five barley loaves and two small fishes. The heart of this small lad is touched, and he is filled with a desire to give something in return that would be worthy of his beloved Master.
Through Timothy's implicit, childlike faith, we glimpse the crucifixion and resurrection, and the belief of this little shepherd boy in the Savior's promise that He will indeed gather His sheep.
Reviews~
This is a touching tale of a little boy who learns who he is because of his selfless gift of love. It is the perfect Family Home Evening lesson or bedtime story. Although it appears to be a children's story at first glance, this story will capture the hearts of the entire family.
As I read Something to Give, A Story for Families, I could almost hear a loving grandmother sitting beside her small grandchildren telling them a story. The few colorful drawings in the book add to the feel of hominess that comes from this book...it has the feel of a storyteller with something important to share with the reader-a testimony of a living Jesus Christ.
