The Young Women is the auxiliary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for girls, ages 12 to 18 years. It exists to help each girl grow spiritually as she follows the example and adheres to the teachings of the Savior. This book has been created to design counted cross-stitch charts of the symbols of the Young Women. These charts will give young women and their leaders the opportunity to reinforce the symbols by stitching them. The effort has been to design patterns:
- which are simple enough for the girls to stitch, even if they are beginner stitchers
- which follow the original designs of the symbols and themes, created by the General Young Women Presidency, as faithfully as possible wihtin the limits of even-weave materials, and
- which will serve as a beautiful reminder of the theme, values, symbols and mission statements in their classrooms and homes.
I hope that many will enjoy the opportunity to stitch these designs for themselves and also share them with family and friends. May they be a source of strength and inspiration.
