Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been counseled to display pictures of the temples in their homes to remind themselves and their families of their eternal goal of exaltation together. This book of temple patterns has been designed and charted for counted cross stitching to help members follow this counsel and to assist them in beautifying their surroundings.

Temple building took on an exciting new emphasis in 1997, when President Gordon B. Hinckley announced the concept of "small" temples to the Church. With over 30 temples using the same first "small" temple design, a single book was designed titled New Small Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to give members patterns for those temples. However, other temples using different designs have been planned and completed since 1999 so the need for this book has arisen. Included in this book are instructions and stitching patterns for 11 temples which have been completed and dedicated since that time. They are listed in this book in the order of their dedication dates. As more temples are announced, there probably will be a need created for even more books.

Over the years, I have heard from hundreds of people who have indicated the enjoyment that these temple patterns have provided them. They have stitched lovely pieces of art for themselves and to be shared with their families and friends. May all the recipients of these cross-stitch pieces draw strength and inspiration for everyday life from having this stitchery in their homes, and may we all be blessed by the guidance, instruction and inspiration received in the sacred temples.
