Dr. Douglas Wixom graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1967. He was a member of the BYU tennis team, and while completing his Master's Degree in Physical Education in 1972, was the assistant tennis coach. He has also been a high school varsity basketball and varsity football coach as well.
In 1982 Dr. Wixom completed his Ph.D in Educational Administration at the University Of Utah. Dr. Wixom worked as the Director of Continuing Education at the United States Sports Academy, where he ran an international home study program for coaches and helped send 40 sport's specialists to Saudi Arabia and Southeast Asia for a year.
Dr. Wixom has been head master of a private school, principal of a public school and created a thinking skills curriculum for at risk students.
Dr. Wixom's writing experience includes being a columnist for his college newspaper, yearbook sports editor and writing a weekly column for a daily newspaper, as well as occasionally writing outdoor magazine articles about flyfishing.
