When he was only ten years old, Derek G. Rowley moved to Carson City, Nevada, where the first person he met, Genine Kidder, became the love of his life and futur eternal companion. Two weeks later, he announced to his parents at the dinner table that he had found the girl he was going to marry.
Derek served as a full-time missionary from 1982-84 in Singapore and Malaysia, where his love and testimony of th gospel of Jesus Christ became firm. Three years after returning from his mission, Derek married his best friend, Genine, in the Oakland, California temple.
After attending Dixie College and the University of Nevada, he eventually left his studies to find his way in the business world. He worked for the Nevada Legislature and started Superior Capital Corporation, which would eventually become a family of companies that serves small businesses around the world. Derek is now the president and CEO of the corporation. He is the author of The Nevada Corporation Handbook and Stupid Things Entrepreneurs Do to Ruin a Perfectly Good Business.
Derek taught early-moring seminary for years in Carson City and has served in many capacities in the Church, including high counselor and bishop.
Derek and his wife, Genine, live in St. George, Utah, with their four sons.
