Vicki Rasmussen was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area. She studied at Brigham Young University, both in Provo and Hawaii. She enjoys tutoring reading in various community groups and has worked as an elementary school teacher's aide in literacy. She currently serves on the advisory board to the Box Elder County Literacy Program and enjoys rural life in Northern Utah. She and her husband are the parents of seven children.

Vicki is also the author of The True Story of "The Night Before Christmas", an illustrated children's book.
