Les first lived in Africa as a Fulbright Scholar assigned to teach at an African bush college near the Congo border. He continued living and traveling in Africa as a consultant to several Nigerian ministries for two years. During this time, he developed a deep appreciation and understanding of African family and cultural values. He and his two young daughters had some amazing experiences, many of which are chronicled in this book. Les finished off his overseas career as Superintendent of the Peace Corps Training Centers in the Caribbean.
After careers in education and administration, Les and Genny developed their passion for writing by working for several newspapers in Northern California. They have written their first book together to chronicle and celebrate the stories Les has always loved telling of his adventures in Africa.
