Clay McConkie is a native of Utah. He is a teacher by occupation, having taught in the Salt Lake City Schools for thirty years. He received a B.A. from Brigham Young University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Utah. He and his wife reside in Provo, Utah, and are the parents of four children.
