Vernon L. Harris was born in Southwick, Idaho, in 1919. Vernon's love of nature and the medical world led to a B.S. degree in Zoology at the University of Idaho in 1941, and a masters in Hospital Administration at the University of Minnesota in 1952. His entire working life was devoted to the Public Health and Health Administration, ending in 1986, after ten years with the Indian health Service on the Navajo Reservation.
Vernon Harris now lives in Orem, Utah. He and his wife Shirlee (recently deceased) have seven children, 33 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
