Allen J. Fletcher was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. After serving in the East Central States Mission, he attended Ricks College, where he met his wife, Elaine Hardy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in speech/dramatic arts from BYU and a master’s degree in education at the University of Calgary.

Allen served for thirty-seven years in the Church Educational System in the United States and Canada. Now retired, he lives in Stirling, Alberta. He and his wife are the parents of seven and grandparents of sixteen.
