Christopher Esseltine was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada and joined the Church when he was eighteen. After serving a mission in Arizona, he became deeply impressed by the Founding Fathers of the United States and the principles upon which the nation was founded. He moved to British Columbia, then attended Brigham Young University where he studied political science and history.
During his last semester, he met his wife, Adelia, whom he married three months later. That same semester, he was commissioned to write an American history textbook for high school and college students.
Chris worked in politics and education before attending law school in Michigan. There he focused his studies on the origins of American liberty and the political and legal ideas of Joseph Smith. He was later admitted to the Michigan Bar on the same day he realized his long-time dream of becoming a citizen of the United States. He now works as an attorney in Washington D.C.
Chris has written or edited several scholarly works and has lectured to several groups on political, historical, and religious topics.
He and his wife have a son, Joshua, a daughter, Rachel, and just recently had a baby, Ephraim.
