Mrs. Dickey's approach to family preparedness has attracted wide attention from the news media, and her experiments and demonstrations have been reported in newspapers and magazines, in addition to television and radio. Her personal demonstrations always attract large audiences and have wide appeal. She has traveled abroad and gained a following overseas as well as across the United States.
The author lives in Gresham, Oregon. She and her husband, Russell Dickey, are the parents of seven children.
