Jean is the mother of eight children, with two married sons and two university students (all of whom successfully weathered their teen-age years) and three more who are currently teenagers.
For more than twenty years, she has worked with the youth of the Church in the Mutual organization, serving in many callings. During this time she has personally taught and influenced several hundred girls, and influenced several hundred girls, and influenced thousands of others from the pulpit. Sister Crowther loves the youth, knows their problems and capabilities, and desires that they succeed in life. She has also served in all the other Church auxiliaries as both a teacher and in music callings, and has worked in scouting and in the genealogical programs. She lives with her husband, Duane S. Crowther, a noted author, and their family in Bountiful, Utah.
In her professional life, Jean works as a designer of craft and cross-stich publications, supervising their preparation at Horizon Publishers.
