Trafford R. Cole is a clinical psychologist. He graduated from Padua University in Italy in 1982, and did post-graduate training in marriage counseling and sex therapy. After several years of private practice, he began teaching psychology courses for the European division of the University of Maryland. He has taught U.S. military members and dependents at several bases in Northern Italy for the last twenty years. He enriched his experience by working for several years for the Army Family Advocacy Program as an educator teaching courses on parenting, relationship enrichment, stress management, and child abuse recognition.
He has also worked as a professional genealogist for Italy and has written numerous articles on the topic. His book Italian Genealogical Records has remained a classic in the field of Italian genealogy.
He presently lives in Italy with his wife, Fernanda, and his three sons, Joel, Jeffrey, and Jason.
