| Brother Burton is originally from Kokomo, Indiana. After serving a mission in the Massachusetts Boston Mission, he attended BYU, where he received his bachelor's degree in anthropology/archaeology. Upon leaving BYU, he attended the University of Michigan, where he received a master's in Near Eastern studies. He has published several chapters in Old Testament commentaries and is currently a coordinator for the Church Educational System in Columbus, Ohio.
Brother Burton and his wife, Estelle, are the parents of four children.
