Years ago, Debbie Bowen gave up her dream job with Eastern Airlines to accomplish her greater dream of becoming a wife and mother. She has spent the subsequent years raising six boys and four girls.
Debbie describes motherhood as “its own kind of excitement.” In addition to fast-moving planes, she has found other forms of transportation to be equally excitingstroller rides, training wheels, and teenage drivers! She says, “While my dream job was brief and fleeting and brought some measure of personal achievement, my greater dream of being a wife and mother has been all that I had hopedand more. It has brought great challenge but even greater fulfillment. I have found peace and contentment in just being a mother.”
In addition to being a mother, Debbie enjoys writing, working in her yard, and bike riding in the country. She lives with her family in Hooper, Utah, where they all keep busy tending a large garden, raspberries, grapes, fruit trees, a variety of animals, and several beehives. |
