Janet Bernice was raised in Prescott, Arizona and has been writing since she was eight years old, inspired by her grandmother Bernice Insley, the author of Indian Folklore and the past director of the Smoki Museum with her husband Russell Insley.
She is the mother of five children and currently, the grandmother to sevenPreston, Chase, Carter, Brynn, Dorothy, Jacob, and Damian. One of her greatest joys is sharing her love of books with all of them by reading to them every chance she gets.
A 1995graduate of the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing, Janet has written for the Bountiful Clipper, Ancestry Magazine and contributed to The Ensign. She has also written for television and co-written screenplays while working in the film industry in Los Angeles.
A grateful convert to the Church for thirty-two years, Janet serves wherever she is asked in the Springville, UT Third Ward and especially loves visiting teaching.
She is the current Executive Editor for Cedarfort, Inc. in Springville, Utah.
