K. Douglas Bassett earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in youth leadership from Brigham Young University. He earned his doctoral degree in education from the University of New Mexico. A former seminary instructor, he has taught religion classes at BYU and currently teaches at the Orem Institute of Religion. He served a full-time mission in southern England during the early 1970s.
He has written several books, including Life Lessons from the Book of Mormon,Commentaries on Isaiah in the Book of Mormon, and the best-selling Latter-day Commentary on the Book of Mormon.
He and his wife, the former Arlene Chapman, live in Mona, Utah. They are the parents of eight children.
